| Job Description |
The Accounts Receivable Clerk works closely with inside sales staff to manage customer accounts for both U2 Canada and U2 USA.
Key tasks include:
- depositing cheques,
- identifying payments received directly into bank accounts,
- determining who is paying what and how,
- posting payments in the SYSPRO (ERP) system,
- maintaining customer information (name, address, contact people, email addresses, discounts, payment terms, credit limits, retail locator information, etc.),
- producing and distributing monthly statements,
- maintaining paper and electronic files,
- training customers,
- dealing with customer queries,
- aging receivables,
- resolving billing disputes,
- making collection calls,
- producing and presenting reports,
- assisting with bank reconciliations,
- posting approved credit notes,
- completing credit reference documents
- and related duties.

| Education, Skills, Qualifications |
- Preferred: Graduation from a post-secondary programme in Business or Accounting
- Minimum: Secondary School Graduation Diploma with courses in Business and / or Accounting
- Above average knowledge of business processes and documents (quotes, orders, invoices, credit notes, etc.)
- Solid understanding of general accounting, financial statements, accounts receivable, and financial controls
- Good understanding of business practices, regulations, and professional conduct
- One or two years Experience working in an office environment for a manufacturing and / or wholesale business
- Knowledge of supply chain partners and logistics
- Knowledge of international business practices, rules and processes
- Above average computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, report writers, etc.)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems - especially SYSPRO
- Very good English language skills (both written and spoken) - including a pleasant telephone presence
- Good attention to detail
- Above average interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and solve problems
- A passion for exemplary customer service
- Master of several technologies (e.g., copiers, smart phones, printers, bar code readers, etc.)
- Commitment to lifelong learning and an appetite for improving business processes

| Other Information |
U2 Fasteners has 2 operating companies. U2 Canada sells goods to: Canadian customers, some foreign customers, and to one US company – U2 USA.
U2 USA sells goods to US customers. The successful candidate will manage all customer accounts in both companies.
As is the case for all U2 staff, the successful candidate will initially work in the warehouse (packing screws, filling orders, checking orders, shipping, receiving, etc.).
Next the successful candidate will work in the Office to learn the Inside Sales function.
N.B., The Accounts Receivable Clerk should have sufficient knowledge and training to work part-time in Inside Sales during peak periods, and part-time as holiday relief.
The Accounts Receivable Clerk will also liaise daily with Inside Sales staff.
